Files v2 tabbed file manager for Windows 11 is now available to everyone

Files is a third-party open source file manager for Windows that leverages the latest features of the Windows platform, including Fluent Design, seamless updates, and APIs that enable the performance and lifecycle behavior that users expect. .

The updated application takes advantage of the latest improvements in Windows and WinUI and has added new features that give users more flexibility in managing their files.

The files feature a tabbed design and are designed to be fully functional while remaining simple and easy to use. Version 2 added the following new features:

A new column view allows multiple levels of the hierarchy to be open at once and provides a visual representation of the current repertoire.

Key words Allow users to organize files and folders in a useful way without being limited by the organization of the file system.

The redesigned context menu in Files v2 allows users to quickly assign tags to files and folders.

Custom themes provide a way for users to customize the appearance of the application.

Custom themes can be selected in the Settings dialog box.
